Wild Things was founded in 1981 by Marie Meunier and John Bouchard, two accomplished alpinists.
They created their own line of high quality, lightweight gear after becoming dissatisfied with the products available.
Marie and John chose to settle in New Hampshire. The rugged natural environment, heavy blizzards and Mount Washington provided an ideal testing ground for the new products.

In the early 2000s, Wild Things’ reputation for unusual, lightweight and durable gear caught the attention of U.S. Special Forces. In 2004, Wild Things was awarded its first contract to produce cold weather clothing systems for the U.S. Military.
